Hinduism - Who Are The Maithila Brahmins?

 

Pancha Gauda is a group of northern Indian brahmins who make up one of five northern brahmin communities: Kanaujia, Gauda, Utkala, and Saraswat.

Maithila brah mins are a minor ethnic group located solely in the Mithila area of modern-day Bihar.

Despite their small size, Maithila brahmins are noted for their dedication to scholarship and culture, as shown by their most famous member, poet Vidyapati.

Hinduism - Who Are The Konkanastha?


Konkanastha is another name for the Chitpavan brahmin community, which refers to their ancient home along the Konkan coast in the states of Goa and Maharashtra.

Chitpavan is a place adjoining the western coast of India.
