Hinduism - Who Are The Grammarians In The World Of Hindu Philosophy?

Philosophical school based on Bhartrhari's teachings (7th c. C.E.).

Brahman, the Ultimate Reality, was seen by the Grammarians as manifesting in sound, especially the sound of the spoken word.

They built their worship around the term Om, which is portrayed in the Mandukya Upanishad, an early speculative work, as the source of all things.

The Philosophy of the Grammarians, edited by Harold Coward and K. Kunjunni Raja, was published in 1990.
