Hinduism - When Is The Republic Day Observed In India?

Republic Day  is an Indian national holiday that commemorates the adoption of the Indian constitution in 1950 on January 26.

It is one of the few holidays associated with Indian independence that is observed according to the common calendar.

Republic Day, which is equivalent to the Fourth of July in the United States, is commemorated throughout India's largest cities with large parades.

The biggest takes place in New Delhi, from where it is aired throughout the country, and features singers and entertainers from around the country, as well as major displays of military hardware, including flyovers by the country's newest jet fighters.
