How to Find Out What Your Ayurvedic Constitutional Type?




The above chart (click to enlarge) is a self-assessment that will help you establish your Ayurvedic constitution. Please keep in mind that this is merely a basic guideline. 

The nuances of each person's mental, emotional, and physical composition are many, and can only be correctly analyzed by an Ayurvedic physician with extensive training and experience. 

So, rather than drawing any definitive conclusions about yourself based on the self-assessment or descriptions of the doshas, utilize this knowledge to assist you improve in self-awareness and to organize your food, exercise routine, and other areas of your lifestyle for optimal health. It's advisable to complete the self-evaluation process twice. (You might want to photocopy it so that others may see it or keep it for future reference.) 

To begin, make decisions based on what has consistently been true about your life as a whole over many years. Your prakruti is shown by this. Then fill it out again, this time thinking about how you've been feeling in the previous month or two. 

This is your vikruti, or current state. It's generally beneficial to have a partner or close friend double-check your answers, since they may have valuable insights and perspective to provide as you formulate your replies. 

Add up the amount of marks under vata, pitta, and kapha to get your individual dosha balance in your prakruti and vikruti once you've completed the chart. 

The majority of people have one dominant dosha, a few have two doshas that are about equal, and even fewer have all three doshas in equal proportion. Make a ratio out of the numbers once they've been added up, with 3 being the greatest number. 

Consider the following scenario: V = 10, P = 6, K = 3. V3P2K1 is the result of this. Studying the following qualities of vata, pitta, and kapha can help you obtain a deeper and more thorough knowledge once you've discovered your primary doshas.
