Hinduism - Who Is Keshava, Keshi, And Keshimanthana?

 

([One with] "Flowing Hair") Keshava  is the deity Lord Krishna's epithet.

Keshi is one of the assassins dispatched by Kamsa, the demon ruler of Mathura, in an effort to assassinate his nephew, the child-god Krishna, according to Hindu legend.

Keshi assaults Krishna in the guise of a ferocious horse.

Krishna effortlessly fends him off and kills him, receiving the moniker "Keshimanthana," or "Keshi-Destroyer."  ("Keshi-destroyer") The deity Krishna's epithet.

Keshi is one of Krishna's uncle Kamsa's demon assassins dispatched to assassinate the young Krishna.

Krishna effortlessly dispatches Keshi in the guise of a horse, as he does all the other demons.
