Hinduism - Who Is Goddess Korravai?

Korravai is a fierce version of the Goddess who is adored in southern India and was thought to be an autochthonous ("of the country") divinity at one time.

Korravai is linked to hunting and battlegrounds, and so to blood, death, and devastation.

She was subsequently associated with other ferocious forms of the Mother Goddess, notably the goddess Kali, perhaps as a result of these associations.

Secret Whispers of a Moonlit Sky

Secret Whispers of a Moonlit Sky

Oh beautiful Moon..
Oh beautiful Star...
By the waters of the Heavens,
By the air which I breathe,
By the fire in my heart,
& By the Earth that kisses my feet,
Shine your Love eternally and forever more unto my Soul.
Blessed be our union, together we shall be made True & Whole )O(

~When I Saw You Near...~ .
.
.
.
Oh, ascendant Moon

When I saw you there

Resplendent flare, waxed gibbous

In the shadow of my setting star
The woods are burning

Earth tide is turning

When I saw you near

In the shadow of the setting Sunlight

I couldn't resist your tender.. silver... kiss

Tears of pearls like the silent drift

Of petals and love from some magic rose;

When I saw you near

I'm glad to make you & my shadow into friends

You look so beautiful

Three in one I know we'll meet again & You'll look so beautiful

Shown affection by
The cool breeze of the night

You'll look so beautiful

With every valiant step you take

Wear the dusk as your armor

The moment my heart got a grip of you

You can't hide from me that heart so pure

The sweet soft kiss of those Silver lips

Dear Moon, full and bright

Drive those tides insane tonight

When I see you near

Show me things like.. witnessing
The beauty of this universe
All at once in your eyes

Dear lustrous orb of silver light

Cloudy skies for weeks have veiled
Thy brilliance from my eyes

But tonight I see thy glowing face
Cool breeze caressed by your Silver rays
Once more as in the past

I bask and bathe ripe in moonlight
Watching Shadows play upon the grass. & You look so beautiful

Tonight, When I sleep neath your magic light
Inside your lunar womb

The fragrant breeze of your memory
Gathers the sweetest taste

Oh lustrous orb of silver light

As ripe and real
As the memories we made

Let your moonbeams touch my soul & You shall look so beautiful and whole again... .

Shadows of Letters

🌙

.

Shadows of letters

I have written in the dark

To light an endless flame

Remembering my foreverLove

🌙

.

Each letter holding Candlelit Moments

Of ours.. Next to the summer Rains

In the waters beneath the stars

As I bathe in the light of this crescent Moon

🌙

.

As I spell these timeless Prayers into the wind

From the fires within my Soul

I dream a dream so deep into our Heart

🌙

.

Shadows of letters that never part
Carry this Eternal Light right through the dark
There is a radar within my heart,
I should have trusted from the start
🌙
.
O beautiful Moon.. O beautiful Star... Carry my letters right to Her Heart

A million stars light up the sky
but one shines brighter I can't deny
A love so precious & A love so true
A love that comes from me to you
The Angels sing whenever you're near
Within your arms I have no fear
You always know just what to say
Just talking to you makes my day
I love you, Dear Moon, With all my heart
Together we're forever, & Never apart...

A Hymn to Diana

A Hymn to Diana

☽O☾

_moonspirit960

Statue of Diana as "The Spirit of Progress" atop a former Montgomery Ward administration building in Chicago,
silhouetted against the second night of a Harvest Moon

Queene, and Huntresse, chaste, and faire,
..Now the Sunne is laid to sleepe,
Seated, in thy silver chaire,
..State in wonted manner keepe:
Hesperus intreats thy light,
Goddesse, excellently bright.

Earth, let not thy envious shade
..Dare it selfe to interpose;
Cynthias shining orbe was made
..Heaven to cleere, when day did close:
Blesse us then with wishèd sight,
Goddesse, excellently bright.

Lay thy bow of pearle apart,
..And thy crystall-shining quiver;
Give unto the flying hart
..Space to breathe, how short soever:
Thou that mak'st a day of night,
Goddesse, excellently bright.

~Written by Ben Jonson (1572-1617):

Hymn to <3 Diana

From Cynthias Revells (1601), Act V, Scene vi

A Beautiful Moon-rise

Dedicating this to...

'A Beautiful Moon-rise... '

☽O☾

True & just my Lady fair
Her beauty does unfold tonight
As secret whispers part Her lips
Her Mysteries wait to kiss our hearts

Charging high atop the clouds
Before our Goddess shining bright
...We dance around making sound!
With Circles left open... that stay unbroken
Her love and praises guard it this night

Lovely, round, bright, & sound
Dearest Full Moon shine your beauty down
& Wrap us warm in your silken gown

Love to you, My Dear Mother Moon
Guide us, & Nourish us
With your gentle rays

Goddess of mine,
Goddess of yours
Goddess of ours...

Blessed be!!!

Diana of Versailles, A Closer Look | The Mythology of Greece and Rome

Versailles and Antiquity exhibition at the Palace of Versailles

Versailles and Antiquity presents the relationship between the palace and Greek and Roman mythology and history, bringing together over 200 works of art.

Diana of Versailles, A Closer Look

H. 2 m (6 ft. 6 ½ in.)

The Diana of Versailles is a slightly over lifesize marble statue of the Greek goddess Artemis, with a deer, located in the Musée du Louvre, Paris. It is a Roman copy of a lost Greek bronze original attributed to Leochares, c. 325 BC. Wikipedia

Artist: Barthélemy Prieur
Location: The Louvre

In this statue the goddess does not appear as a huntress, but rather as the protectress of a wild animal. She is conceived as having just come to the rescue of a hunted deer, and is in the act of turning with angry mien on the pursuers. With her right hand she grasps an arrow from the quiver that hangs at her back, and in her left she holds the bow.

The great barometer of Louis XV and Louis XVI.

Sickness

This dramatic sculpture was originally placed at the top of a fountain in the gardens of the Palace. It depicts Latona with her children Diane and Apollo imploring help from their father Jupiter.
