Hinduism - What Is A Paishacha Marriage?

Paishacha Marriage is one of the eight types of marriage described in the dharma literature, or religious treatises.

Because Paishachas are a kind of demon, any marriage named after them is suspicious.

When a man has intercourse with a lady who is inebriated, unconscious, or sleeping, the Paishacha marriage occurs.

This is one of the four abominable (aprashasta) types of marriage, and it was outlawed due to the woman's lack of conscious knowledge, despite the fact that it was recognized a legal marriage.

Rather than legitimizing the activities of the "groom," the authors seem to be concerned with giving the "bride" legal status as a wife.

Despite its theoretical validity, this kind of marriage has always been prohibited, and as a result, it has never been a prevalent type of marriage.
