Hinduism - Who Is Manu? Who Are The Manus In The Hindu Pantheon?

The Manus are fourteen semidivine princes who are regarded as the founders of the human race and rulers of the cosmos in Hindu mythology.

Traditional thought is that time has no origin or conclusion, but instead alternates between cycles of creation and activity, followed by cessation and quietude.

Each of these cycles lasts 4.32 billion years; the active period is known as Brahma's Day, while the tranquil phase is known as Brahma's Night.

Each Day of Brahma is split into fourteen equal times, each controlled by one of the four teen Manus in one instance of cosmic time.
