Hinduism - Where Is Guler In India?

Guler is a historical site in the Shiwalik Hills, in the Himalayan foothills.

These hills were home to several minor kingdoms in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, which served as major places for the development of arts and culture.

The Pahari miniature painting style initially emerged in its developed form in Guler.

The evolved Pahari style varies from the previous Rajasthani style in that it emphasizes more linear drawing—perhaps inspired by European art—and a more restrained use of color, both of which contribute to a more lyrical sense to the paintings.
