Hinduism - Where Are The The Nilgiri Hills In India?

The Nilgiri Hills are a range of hills created by the confluence of the Western and Eastern Ghats, and are situated in the crossroads of three southern Indian states: Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka.

The hills were formerly inhabited by a tribal group known as the Todas, albeit just a few thousand Todas remain now.

This area is known for its hill stations, such as Ootacamund and Kodaikanal, which are popular holiday places, honeymoon destinations, and filmmaking locations.

Hinduism - Who Are The Gond People Of India?

In central India, there is a tribal (adivasi) group known as Gond.

The Gonds are mostly found in Madhya Pradesh, particularly in the hills on both sides of the Vindhya Mountains, in the Kaimur Range on Madhya Pradesh's eastern border with Uttar Pradesh, and in the Ramgarh Hills on the boundary of Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, and Bihar.

They, like other indigenous peoples, are destitute and rely on subsistence cultivation to make ends meet.
