Hinduism - Who Is Rohini In Hindu Mythology?

The birth mother of Balarama, the divinity Krishna's brother, according to Hindu legend.

Balarama was born in an unusual way.

The fetus is mysteriously transferred from Devaki's womb to Rohini's after he is conceived.

This is done to keep him safe, since Devaki's evil uncle Kamsa has already slain Devaki's previous seven children and would undoubtedly kill Balarama if she carries him to term.

Hinduism - Who Is Devaki?

Krishna's mother according to Hindu legend.

Krishna is the deity Vishnu's eighth avatar (incarnation), and like the other avatars, he comes to earth to restore cosmic equilibrium by defeating the forces of evil that are disrupting it.

Devaki is the cruel king of Mathura's niece, and on the day of her wedding, a celestial voice declares that her eighth child would slay Kamsa.

Kamsa intends to put an end to the prophesy by imprisoning Devaki and her husband, Vasudeva, and murdering each of their children as they are born.

Devaki's seventh kid is mysteriously transferred to Rohini's womb and given the name Balarama.

The sealed gates mysteriously open with the birth of the eighth child, Krishna, and all the guards go into a deep slumber, enabling Vasudeva to spirit the baby kid to his foster parents, Nanda and Yashoda.
