Hinduism And Hindu Theology - Where Is Angkor?

The Khmer king Suryavarman II (1112–1153 C.E.) constructed a temple complex in northern Cambodia.

  • The Khmer people were native to Cambodia, but Angkor's temples were devoted to Hindu gods.
  • This shows the enormous impact of Hindu culture, which had been disseminated across Southeast Asia by Indian (mainly southern Indian) merchants and traders by the end of the first century C.E.
