Apurva is an invisible power produced by activity, especially ceremonial action, according to the Purva Mimamsa philosophical system.
- This invisible force persists from the start of an activity through the conclusion of that action, and it always produces the desired outcome.
- This concept was created to link acts to their outcomes, especially when the outcome occurred some time after the original action, and it is particularly important to karma.
- The Mimamsas created the idea of the apurva to back up information contained in the Vedas, which often states that particular acts would ultimately yield certain consequences.
