Hinduism - Who Was Swami Chinmayanand?

Balakrishna Menon was born in 1915 and died in 1993. He was an ascetic and instructor in modern Hinduism.

Swami Shivananda, whose writings Chinmayanand first read while serving a jail term for his participation in the freedom struggle, influenced Chinmayanand to become an ascetic.

He dedicated himself to the study of ancient writings for many years and became one of the foremost experts on the Vedas.

The Chinmayanand Mission, which conveyed the Vedanta philosophical school's abstract, intellectual, and peaceful message throughout the globe, is one of his legacies.

The Vishva Hindu Parishad, a contemporary militant Hindu group, is another aspect of his legacy.

In 1964, he was one of the organization's founding members, and for a while, he was the only ascetic on its governing council.
