Hinduism - What Is The Deccan?

The Indian subcontinent's region. This term can refer to all of India south of the Vindhya Mountains, the mountain range that separates northern and southern India.

The arid and hilly plateau in the northern and eastern sections of the area south of the Vindhyas, surrounded on the east and west by the highlands known as the Eastern and Western Ghats, is referred to as this word.

The Deccan is a cultural transition zone between the northern Indian plain and the deep south in Hindu concepts.
