Hinduism - What Is Kalpa In Hindu Cosmology?

The biggest unit of cosmic time is the Kalpa, which is equal to 4.32 billion years.

The kalpa is divided into a thousand mahayugas, each lasting 4.32 million years, according to one theory.

The kalpa, or Day of Brahma, is the oldest known unit of time, and it is used to calculate the length of the cosmic verse.

Following the completion of the kalpa, there occurs an equally lengthy "Night of Brahma," a time of global dissolution (pralaya).
