Pippalada

One of the ancient sages in the Atharva Veda, one of the earliest Hindu holy scriptures, according to Hindu folklore.

Pippalada is also referenced as a religious instructor who trains sages such as Sukesha, Kashyapa, and Bhargava in the Prashna Upanishad, one of the speculative religious works that constitutes the final portion of the Vedas.

Pippalada is said to have gotten his name from his liking for Pippali fruits, which are the fruit of the holy pipal tree Ficus religiosa (ashvattha).
