What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for healing. Reiki is a form of therapy that encourages life-long recovery and equilibrium. Reiki increases healing and decreases stress, all of which are common in today's culture.

Reiki focuses on improving or increasing the flow of beneficial energies through the use of energy that comes from the practitioner's fingertips.

To increase well-being, the aim is to improve areas of poor or insufficient energy, which are considered areas of sickness.

Reiki is derived from the Japanese words Rei, which means "higher power" or "universal power," faith, or universal power, and Ki, which means "power" or "life force."

Reiki is known as a spiritually driven force when these two terms are used together.

The History of Reiki and How It Has Progressed

Reiki's origins can be traced back to ancient times, but the precise age or time period is uncertain.

In the mid-1800s and the early twentieth century, the art of Reiki was rediscovered and adapted for contemporary use, as it is used today.

Dr. Usai, a Japanese Buddhist monk, learned the ancient art, finding its properties and further cultivating Reiki to improve the metaphysical, emotional, and physical benefits.

Reiki has spread around the world in just over a century, from its origins in Japan to many countries around the world, including Western countries.

Although many people turn to Western-based medicine and medications for a number of diseases and chronic disorders, some turn to Reiki and other ways of healing to strengthen their mind, body, and spirituality.
