Pagan Religions - What Is Animal Observation In Paganism?

Animals were regarded as great creatures in many ancient faiths if they displayed exceptional power, intellect, or cunning.

They eventually became associated with the gods and gained holiness.

  • They were revered and honored by the gods.
  • In specifically devoted temples, prayers were offered to them.
  • The bull, Apis, the cat, the snake, the crocodile, and certain birds, such as the ibis and the bennu, were among these holy creatures.
  • The Egyptians regarded them with respect.
  • The gods showed their animal embodiment by having animals as companions, despite their human appearance.
  • Zoolatry is the worship of animals.
