The Lydians revered the earth as a deity. APIS Egypt's sacred bull, a symbol of fertility. 





Between his horns is a solar disc, which he wears. 

His worship attracted throngs to his Apeum temple in Memphis. 





Apis was thought to have oracular abilities, and his birthday was observed as a significant festival. 



After his death, a new Apis ascended to the throne. 

Apis was thought to be the body of the god Ptah in Memphis.
