Hinduism - What Is A Khadga?

Khadga (literally, "sword") - The sword is an artefact linked with a number of deities in Hindu mythology.

It has deep ties to Kali, representing the cutting off of her adherents' (bhakta) ignorance.

It's been known to be used to physically hack off the heads of animals sacrificed to her.

Other Goddess representations, such as Durga and Santoshi Ma, as well as various Shiva and Vishnu depictions, all wield the sword.
