Hinduism - Who Is Hiranyaksha In Hindu Mythology?

Hiranyaksha is a demon king who is destroyed by Vishnu in his avatar or incarnation as a Boar, according to Hindu mythology.

Hiranyaksha has attained many celestial attributes as a consequence of his arduous physical ascetic practice (tapas).

He finally gets so strong and prideful that he transports the earth to the bottom of the cosmic ocean, where she is hidden.

Vishnu takes on human form in times of cosmic crisis in order to restore the cosmos' balance via his acts.

Vishnu transforms into a colossal boar and descends to the ocean's depths, where he kills Hiranyaksha, sets the earth on the tip of his tusk, and pulls her from the depths.

The process of creation restarted with the return of the earth.
