Hinduism - Who Are The Gana In Hindu Mythology?

A collective title for a collection of lesser gods that serve as Shiva's slaves and attendants in Hindu mythology.

Members of this gana are often shown in gruesome shapes, coated with ash, wielding skulls and weapons, being physically deformed, and smirking and laughing hideously.

Shiva's followers, sympathizers, and minions make up the gana, and they are ready to execute his bidding when instructed.

The deity Ganesh ("Lord of the Host") is the gana's commander.
