Pramukh Swami

 

Pramukh Swami is a Hindu sage. (b. 1921) Pramukh or "President Swami" Shastri Narayanswarupdas Swami is the Swaminarayan religious community's current spiritual leader.

Swaminarayan Hinduism is centered on the life and teachings of Sahajananda Swami (1781–1830), who was regarded as an incarnation of the deity Vishnu by his devotees due to his piety and charm.

Pramukh Swami is the undisputed leader of the Akshar Purushottam Samstha, a Swaminarayan offshoot that split from the main organization in 1906.

He is a rigorous ascetic who acts as a religious teacher (guru) to millions of people throughout the globe.

His bhaktas (devotees) are mostly Gujarati and predominantly wealthy merchants, ensuring that the movement's financial viability.
