Hinduism - Who Is Pururavas In Hindu Mythology?

 


A renowned king of a royal family tracing their ancestors to the moon in Hindu mythology.

Pururavas is a good king who conducts one hundred horse sacrifices (ashvamedha) and gains immense power as a result of them.

He is most famous for his relationship with Urvashi, a heavenly nymph (apsara) with whom he had multiple offspring.

Despite being separated for sixty years due to a curse, the two are joyfully reunited in the end.
