Rakshasa

A specific sort of asura in Hindu mythology (demon).

Rakshasas are said to be incredibly strong, not just because of their incredible physical strength, but also because of their undeniable talent in the magical arts.

They are also shown as being malicious toward humans, who they not only murder but also consume.

Rakshasas are said to be the result of Brahma's rage when he grows hungry while reading the Vedas, according to legend.

The rakshasas' capital is Lanka, and Ravana is their most famous commander, whose murder at the hands of Rama is the climax of the Ramayana, the first of the two major Hindu epics.
