Hinduism - What Is A Tilak?

A tika is a mark on the forehead that is formed using colorful powders blended with oil, sandalwood paste, or cosmetics.

These forehead markings are worn for a variety of reasons, including mere adornment, sectarian connection, and as an external representation of having prayed in a temple on that particular day.

Look up tika.
