Hinduism - What Is Tulsidas Jayanti?

Festival occurring on the seventh day of the bright (waxing) half of the lunar month of Shravan (July–August), celebrating the birthday of the medieval devotional (bhakti) poet-saint Tulsidas (1532–1623).

Tulsidas wrote a variety of works and is one of the rare medieval poet-saints who is thought to have been literate and to have written down his work.

The Ramcharitmanas, a vernacu lar retelling of the epic Ramayana, is his most famous work.
