Krishna's father as a divinity.
Vasudeva's most significant part in Krishna's mythology occurs on the night of Krishna's birth, when he is able to transport the baby Krishna from his birthplace, the jail, to the house of his foster parents, Nanda and Yashoda.
That night, Vasudeva arrives with Yashoda's newborn
daughter, who is really the goddess Bhadrakali in disguise.
Kamsa murders the kid by slamming it on a stone the
following morning, but the goddess emerges from the corpse, taunting Kamsa that
the person who would kill him has escaped.
