What is an Empath?

An empath is a person who has the unique ability to perceive other people's thoughts and feelings as if they were their own without even trying.

They have a natural sensitivity to the forces that surround them. When an empath enters a room and sits next to someone who is silently grieving, the empath will pick up on the sadness and feel it as though it were their own. An empath who is unaware of their talent will be torn between their own emotions and those of others, causing them to be profoundly conflicted.

To figure out whether you're an empath, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Is it possible for you to interpret people in any way?
  2. Do you pick up on other people's feelings and misinterpret them for your own?
  3. Are you able to think in the same way as others?
  4. Do your emotions change as soon as you see someone new?
  5. Do you ever wonder if you're a codependent, neurotic, or even insane person?
  6. Can you have the ability to read people's minds?

Getting the ability to pick up on other people's energies can be fantastic, but it can be a real challenge when the energies in question are dark, particularly if the empath in question is unaware of their ability.

Empaths aren't created; they're born. Their talents are genetic traits that are encoded in their DNA and passed on over the generations. As a result, becoming an empath is not a skill that can be learned. Either you're an empath or you're not.

Being an empath means you're still ready to process other people's energy and feelings.

Empaths are more prone to feeling and being aware of what is going on around them than what is going on inside them. This will cause empaths to overlook their own needs. Empaths are usually non-violent and non-aggressive people. They play the role of peacemaker the majority of the time. Empaths feel nervous and insecure in places or situations where there is confusion or disharmony.

When they find themselves in the midst of a disagreement, they will try to resolve it as quickly as possible, or stop it entirely if possible. An empath is likely to resent his lack of restraint and self-control if foul words or profane language is used in their defense.

Empaths have a diverse range of musical tastes to complement their various vocal temperaments. Others may be perplexed as to how empaths may listen to one kind of music for a few minutes and then turn to something entirely new. The lyrics of songs are very important to empaths. Words have a strong negative impact on them, particularly whether the song is about their current condition or a recent encounter. To stop causing chaos with their mental state, empaths should listen to music without associated lyrics in certain situations.
