A disciple of the Nyaya and Vaisheshika
philosophical schools, two of Hindu philosophy's six schools.
The Nyaya and Vaisheshika schools, as well as the Samkhya
and Yoga schools, and the Mimamsa and Vedanta schools, amalgamated in the early
years of the common period.
A follower of the united Nyaya-Vaisheshika school of thought
is referred to as a Naiyayika.
