Sandarshana Mudra

Sandarshana Mudra (meaning "expositing" in Sanskrit).

A symbolic hand gesture (mudra) in Indian dance, sculpture, and ritual in which the tips of the thumb and index finger meet, with the rest of the fingers extended and the palm facing the spectator.

This hand gesture is also known as the vyakhyana ("teaching") mudra since it is used to indicate explanation or exposition.

The chit ("consciousness") mudra is also known as the teaching gesture because it indicates a person of greater spiritual attainment.
