5 Reiki Symbols from the Past

Reiki Symbols are a collection of symbols that represent the healing power of Reiki.

You will come across various icons as you read more about Reiki. You've probably seen similar ones in other methods, particularly if you've seen Kanji in Japanese. There are five common icons of Reiki healing.

Dr. Mikao Usui pictured the symbols at the conclusion of his 21-day fast, which he introduced as part of the Reiki system in 1922.

Their roots are also said to be much older, since they were still a part of the culture while Dr. Usui was already learning what Reiki would become. The icons have since been indispensable in the world of Reiki healing.

It's important to note the five symbols that have been designated as common while attempting to master Reiki

These symbols reflect the various facets of Reiki and how they can assist you in your path. They're thought to be the keys to unlocking higher degrees of consciousness. As a result, they are revered as sacred and divine. They were not discussed with the public in the past. The symbols are now visible to everyone.

If you read more about these symbols, keep in mind that they have no special abilities.

They are something of a guidance mechanism for students and masters, allowing them to rely on the energies they possess. They're just a part of Reiki's energy field.

    1. Efficacy

The cho ku rei symbol, also known as the "power" symbol, represents the rise and fall of one's power. It's shaped like a coil and is thought to be the energy's regulator as it extends and contracts. Its aim is to turn on the lamp. The power symbol will show the users its potential to enlighten or illuminate them on a metaphysical basis, depending on where it is drawn.

    2. Peace

Purification is the aim of the "harmony" icon. It's also known as the sei hi ki, and it's a technique for mental and emotional recovery. The peace sign is a swooping bird's wing or a crashing wave on the ocean's surface.

    3. Distance

The hon sha ze sha sign, which means "distance," reflects the need for timelessness. It is depicted as a pagoda-style tower. It's a metaphor for someone's desire to share their qi even though the people they're sharing it with aren't on the same physical plane as them.

    4. Educator

The dai ko myo symbol, also known as the "lord" symbol, symbolizes everything about Reiki. The emblem is made up of several symbols and depicts users who have progressed through the ranks to eventually become masters. When they initiate attunements, they not only express what they've learned, but they also recover.

    5. Finalization

The “completion” mark, also known as raku, denotes the need to reach a conclusion. A lightning bolt is used to represent the mark. When the attunement is complete, the users will see this sign, which will mark the end of their ascending path.
